Taylor Schaefer is a first year candidate in Creative Nonfiction Writing in the MFA
in Creative writing at GMU. She is also getting the new graduate publishing certificate in order to learn
more skills relevant to the publishing industry, which she hopes to work in once she graduates. Her strengths
are in editing and writing (creative writing, grant writing, and professional writing) but she is also
competent in basic video and audio editing. Since entering the graduate program, she has improved her skills in
basic design and in leading group projects.
Her main goal for this course is to learn html and understand
the building blocks that make up websites so she can build her own! She is excited to learn more about
user-based design, and hopes to be able to use these skills to create her own writing portfolio,
and to edit and update websites for future employers.
